Week 1- Saying Goodbye

Here we go! Week 1 of 52. I think about how LONG this is going to be with Joey gone, until I write down all the things I want to accomplish before he comes home and then a year doesn't seem so long anymore. Being a mom is number one priority, and I'm pretty sure that'll keep me busy enough. And after that I have a huge list of things to do while we wait for our daddy and husband to come back home!
So week one... Joey leaving

This was right before leaving the hotel that morning.  It was the hardest looking at them together

This was by far the hardest thing I'v had to do... I walked him to the bus by myself.  And I couldn't help but think when he got on the bus and turned to look at me how gosh dang handsome he looked in his uniform! Just when I was about to lose it, He gave me that big Joey smile and that was all I needed. He put his head down and got on the bus.

And then leave it to me and Joey... After we said goodbye, we were getting ready to leave ourselves when I couldn't find the key to my car. Yep! Joey had it!! So frantically Joeys dad hurried and called him as the buses were literally pulling out and thankfully Joey was on the LAST bus. He threw the keys out the door and the buses were gone. It wouldn’t be me and Joey if things like this didn’t happen all the time.. We make our lives interesting lets just say!
And there he goes :'(
These people stood there for a very long time in the frezzing cold holding those flags, while a group of motorcycles followed them on the main road.  It was really very touching.

I'm so thankful for all those soldiers that have ever, and are still serving our country
